Parents who work at Duke University and Health System now have greater access to quality child care through the new Duke Child Care Partnership.
Duke has provided nearly $1 million - $200,000 per year over a five year period - to fund grants to area child care centers for improving the quality of child care or expanding space for infants and toddlers. This program is a unique partnership developed between Duke and Child Care Services Association (CCSA) to address the shortage of high quality child care in our community in a manner which benefits both the Duke community and the broader community. CCSA invites eligible child care centers to submit proposals for funding and oversees the administration of the program.
In exchange for this financial support, Duke faculty, staff and students receive priority for vacant spaces at these facilities when they become available. Since its inception over 800 new 4 and 5 star spaces have been created and over 400 Duke families currently have a child enrolled at a participating center.
